Lease in Peace: A Renter’s Toolkit

Are you a renter? Are you ever uncertain what your rights and responsibilities are? Do you ever struggle with communicating productively with your landlord? Are you unsure of what resources are available for you?

Event 4 : On Saturday, September 27, if you’re feeling like a walk? We are working our way through Lease in Peace outreach, getting resource information into the hands and on the doorknobs of our neighbors who rent. We will happily accept your help by giving you a list of addresses and a pack of our materials.

Event 3 : On Saturday, August 23, hang renter resource doorhangers in older neighborhoods of BG. Volunteers will work in pairs to cover their list of addresses. This part of our Lease in Peace initiative is in conjunction with BGSU's For the Public Good service event.

Event 2 : On Wednesday, April 2, at the free Community Meal hosted by St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 315 South College Drive, on April 2. The presentation will begin at 5:00pm.

Event 1 : On Wednesday, March 19 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm in Room 203 Olscamp Hall on the campus of BGSU.  This event is hosted by the Undergraduate Student Government and co-sponsored by the Graduate Student Senate at BGSU, in partnership with BG SONG (Bowling Green Save Our Neighborhoods Group) and PEBG (People of Engagement Bowling Green). There will be presentations on effective communication with landlords and resources for renters, as well as plenty of discussion about issues renters have experienced and ideas for how renters, landlords, and organizations can work together to make Bowling Green a great place to rent. The Lease in Peace event is free to attend. Pizza, beverages, and homemade cookies will be provided.
